Here’s a sneak preview of our brand new cartoon, currently in production. It’s based on a song called “Home Run Ronnie” about my nephew. The song will be included on our new CD, More Story Songs and Sing Alongs, soon to be released. I hope you enjoy it! The finished cartoon will be ready by the end of February 2010.

“Willy Won’t” Animated Music Video Storyboard

Song Inspiration: My Newphew, “Will”

I have a nephew named “Will” who is a major source of inspiration for my Debbie and Friends’ songs. As many of you know, when Will was 3-years old, he told the story of the Three Little Pigs with such enthusiasm one day that it inspired me to write a story song. That led to a series of story songs and I’m so grateful to Will for his creative spirit and for being such a source of inspiration.

Will is now 8 and continues to inspire. He’s got a great sense of humor. In fact, he went through a stage of making silly faces every time his picture was being taken. Even his school picture!

Of course, I had to turn that into a song!

And so, “Willy Won’t Smile for the Camera” is slated to be on our new CD in January. Here’s a production version of the song featuring Will himself singing the bridge (where he tells us why he does what he does).

And now, a new music cartoon for “Willy Won’t” is in development. It will feature Will and his whole family in cartoon form. Here’s a preview of what they look like on the big screen!

Stay tuned for the Storyboard version of the cartoon. It will be posted in a couple of weeks. Then, in January, the real cartoon will be released.

Goldilocks: The Music Video

It’s here! The new Debbie and Friends animated music video by our good friends at Planet Sunday.

Build A Bear (Cartoon that is!)

As I mentioned in our last movie announcement, all of the Debbie and Friends animated cartoons are based on songs from our CD, Story Songs and Sing Alongs. The next animated cartoon in development is based on the “Golidlocks and the Three Bears song.”

Here’s the process. Once we know which song we want to develop into a music cartoon, we ask our good friend Rob Heath at Barkley Studios to help us by creating some fun characters for the cartoon.

Character design.

Then, we create scenes based on the lyrics of the song.

And finally, we develop a storyboard movie… it’s like a “rough version” of what the animation will be like, set to music. Here’s our storyboard movie/rough version of the “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” animated music video.

After that, our amazing animators at Planet Sunday do their thing and create the real animated feature. The “real thing” will be ready by the end of October. Stay tuned!!! Until then, please be sure to check out the other Debbie and Friends cartoons and performance videos on our YouTube Channel!

Jack and the Beanstalk Music Video

Little Red Cartoon - In the works!

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for your fun responses to the new Debbie and Friends’ cartoons!

I’m happy to announce we have another cartoon in the works. This one based on our story song, “Little Red Riding Hood.” Here are some pictures of the characters in the story! (Can you name them?)
